Cinquecento Trattoria (Liberty Village)
A distinct mix of industrial and rustic décor, this younger sibling of Café Cinquecento on King Street offers two floors of Italian favourites.
The garage door opens the main floor to the busy street culture of film types and artists, who are ready to fuel up on the tasty pastas and salty antipasti laden with deli meats, seafood and grilled vegetables.
Many diners are in love with the Lila salad with its traditional combination of arugula, mushroom and parmesan and just as many hope that the classic Caesar salad made on King Street will make its way to this location.
If you want a view of Liberty Village, head to the second-floor patio (one of two in this neighbourhood), but you’d better be hungry for pizza, like a classic margherita or quatrro stagione, as the full menu isn’t available for top-floor diners.
